"Thank you for allowing me to represent you and our future generations as a commonsense conservative, who believes in limited government, fiscal responsibility and protecting personal liberties."

Driving South Dakota Forward

As a member of the State Senate, I believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility and protecting personal liberties. My years of experience in economic development position me well to help our state continue to grow and prosper.

Born & Raised

I was born and raised in Arlington, SD. I’m proud to have grown up in our state’s K-12 system, played football and received my degree at Northern State University, married my high school sweetheart, Ashley, and started my family here in South Dakota.

Community & Economic Growth

Over the last six years, I’ve been fortunate to help grow jobs and improve communities throughout South Dakota in my role at Heartland Consumers Power District. My job focuses on helping towns build up infrastructure and increase quality of life. I’ve worked to champion small business across the region.

Accomplishments & Issues

I have now served four years in the Senate; with the last two years I have had the honor of serving as the Senate Majority Leader. I am proud of the result driven and common-sense legislation we have passed. Which includes passing South Dakota’s largest tax cut, keeping tuition affordable for SD students at our universities and tech schools and helping cybersecurity & quantum computing become an economic engine not just for the community of Madison but the whole state. In addition, the accomplishments below:

SD law limits donations to legislative candidates to $1,000 per individual donor, per year.
