As a member of the State Senate, I believe in limited government, fiscal responsibility and protecting personal liberties. My years of experience in economic development position me well to help our state continue to grow and prosper.

Born & Raised
I was born and raised in Arlington, SD. I’m proud to have grown up in our state’s K-12 system, played football and received my degree at Northern State University, married my high school sweetheart, Ashley, and started my family here in South Dakota.
Over the last six years, I’ve been fortunate to help grow jobs and improve communities throughout South Dakota in my role at Heartland Consumers Power District. My job focuses on helping towns build up infrastructure and increase quality of life. I’ve worked to champion small business across the region.
Accomplishments & Issues
During my two years in the SD Senate, I was elected Majority Whip by my colleagues in my freshman year, served as Chairman of Senate Commerce and Energy and was a Member – State Affairs, Transportation, Legislative Procedures. In that time, I’ve been the prime sponsor and played a meaningful role in the following:
